In the morning it starts with the pickups - racing around the island picking up dogs keen to hit the trails. Sometimes everyone get too excited and we stop for a scrum, a pee break, let everyone have a sniff then everyone "Load up" and we are off!
Once everyone is picked up and settled in the van we head for the hills, the trails, the beach, the swimming hole - it depends on the group!
Every day is different but one thing is for sure: by the time we do drop-offs there are a lot of happy puppies snoozing in the back - its like a week of summer camp packed into every day!
And this is the man who started it all - Michael! Talking dogs and walking dogs on Quadra Island for over a decade - that's a whole bunch of happy, well socialized dogs!
Now Michael has some help to keep up with those crazy mutts! First it was Danielle - she fell in love with Michael and discovered he's got a tail and talks dog. So Danielle joined the pack!
Last year while Michael and Danielle took a much needed break, I found myself saying "Hey that sounds pretty fun."
But after 7 months of doggy grins and kisses do you think I could walk away?
So now there is a team of 3 and a WHOLE lot of DOG!
